At Guided Path, we know that cancer impacts far more than the body — it affects families, communities, and every aspect of daily life. That’s why we’ve launched the East Tennessee Cancer Task Force, a regional initiative designed to bring people and organizations together to strengthen the support available for our neighbors facing cancer.
The Task Force unites healthcare providers, nonprofits, housing programs, food assistance agencies, transportation services, faith communities, and local leaders across 24 counties of East Tennessee. Together, we’re working to close gaps in care, share resources, and create practical solutions for the challenges patients and families face every day — from transportation and housing to food security and emotional support.
This is more than a network; it’s a movement of compassion and collaboration. By working side by side, we can ensure that no one in East Tennessee has to face the weight of cancer without a strong, connected community walking beside them.
A Letter From Our Founder

When I was diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) at age 41, it felt as though the ground disappeared beneath me. In an instant, life shifted. I was no longer simply someone with plans, responsibilities, and a future — I was someone with a dire diagnosis. Even surrounded by people who loved and cared for me deeply, I had never felt more alone.
There were scans. Specialists. Surgeries over 1,000 miles away from home. Endless phone calls with my insurance carrier. I was trying to cope with what was happening to my body while also navigating a confusing and overwhelming system of care. The emotional toll was immense — but the logistical burden was just as heavy.
What no one tells you is how isolating it can be. Not just the fear, but the exhaustion of managing everything — appointments, finances, decisions — while trying to stay afloat. Even when support is offered, it’s easy to feel like you’re carrying it all by yourself.
This experience led me to create Guided Path.
We exist to fill the gaps — to offer meaningful, non-clinical support to individuals and families facing appendix cancers and PMP. Our work doesn’t replace clinical care; it complements it. We help lift the weight that cancer places not just on bodies, but on lives — through practical guidance, emotional support, and steady presence.
Our mission is simple: to help people breathe again. To bring clarity where there’s confusion, calm where there’s chaos, and connection where there might otherwise be loneliness. Guided Path was born from the hardest chapter of my life. Today, it stands as a promise: no one should ever have to walk this path alone.
With compassion,
